Very little news on the OnLive has surfaced since the gaming service was first revealed at GDC last year. However, during a recent demonstration at OnLive CEO Steve Perlman’s alma mater, Columbia University, Perlman revealed that the MicroConsole used with the service could be free. There has been speculation on the price point of the device, but nothing definitive until now.
“Itâs [MicroConsole] so inexpensive that the case actually costs more than the chips inside of it, so we are in a position where we can give it away if you sign up to a subscription if you want to or charge very little,” explained Perlman.
There still haven’t been any formal announcements by OnLive, and it’s likely that we won’t be hearing much soon.
