The president of Venezuela isn’t too keen on video games. According to him, they lead children down the “road to Hell,” and they were created by “evil Capitalists.” Hugo Chavez also says the PlayStation is poison.
“Those games they call ‘PlayStation’ are poison,” Chavez said on his weekly radio-TV show. “Some games teach you to kill. They once put my face on a game, ‘you’ve got to find Chavez to kill him.'”
Video games that let you “bomb cities or just throw bombs,” are sold by capitalists to sow violence so they can “later sell weapons.” They “promote the need for cigarettes, drugs and alcohol so they can sell them. That’s capitalism, the road to hell,” he added.
He’s just a little upset because Mercenaries 2 featured Venezuela (in a negative way), and it didn’t sell very well.
