Speaking on GameTrailers TV, Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime said that Nintendo hasn’t “committed to Zelda for 2010.” Many believed that the successor to 2006’s The Twilight Princess would be showing itself sometime in 2010, especially when, in an July 2008 interview, creator Shigeru Miyamoto stated that the Zelda team had been working on a new Zelda game for the Wii. Unfortunately, he also noted that the new Zelda game would appear in 2010 at the earliest.
This might be disappointing news to Wii gamers, but fortunately we’ll be seeing new installments in both the Mario and Metroid franchises. We’ll just have to wait a bit longer for the ocarina-wielding Hylian.
