Originally announced for WiiWare and PC, Super Meat Boy will also be coming to XBLA, but here's the kicker: it's coming to XBLA before WiiWare and PC. Team Meat is hoping for a summer release with the WiiWare and PC releases coming shortly thereafter. There's no plan to bring the game to PSN even though Team Meat has told IGN it has the game running on a PS3 test kit (burn!).

The reason the developers are bringing it to XBLA is because it allows them to do more than on WiiWare. The game roughly halfway done so far, and it's already about 35MB in size. The problem is Nintendo limits the size of WiiWare games to 42MB, which means they have much more freedom on XBLA. That's one reason why the XBLA version will have online play.

Visceral Games recently finished up Dante's Inferno, and it's next project, Dead Space 2, is set to be released later this year. However, don't think that all of the studio's resources are going towards the space thriller. According to Nick Earl, general manager of Visceral Games, the company is also working on titles for PSN and XBLA.

"Our express purpose is to make the sort of AAA hits that are just naturally found on 360 and PS3," Earl explained to Gamasutra. "We also do some PC work as well. That's not to say that we don't have smaller efforts under way and direct-to-consumer efforts on XBLA and PSN.

"We had really, really strong results with Battlefield 1943, which was created in a studio even bigger than Visceral and had to pay for its share of infrastructure. We've had great results for that. That is showing the opportunity there.

"I think we'll have some interesting offerings over this year and next that show our confidence in the space," he added.

According to a report from analyst group FADE, Xbox Live Arcade is estimated to have made $103.4 million in 2009. This seems to only prove that digital downloads are catching on big time now and will only continue to grow. The top ten games of 2009 were as follows:

Battlefield 1943 - $12.5 million

Castle Crashers - $7.3 million

Trials HD - $7.1 million

Shadow Complex - $6.1 million

Family Game Night - $4.2 million

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 - $4.2 million

Magic: The Gathering - $2.8 million

Worms 2 - $1.8 million

Peggle - $1.8 million

Turtles in Time: Reshelled - $1.7 million

Kind of surprising to see that Family Game Night mad it onto that list. It can be downloaded for free as a frontend for the various games, but I guess I didn't think many people would pay $10 a pop for those board games.

The Behemoth announced its new XBLA game, which will be called BattleBlock Theater. "Having shipwrecked on a mysterious island, you find yourself both betrayed by your best friend Hatty and captured by the locals," reads the description. "All of this is happening while being forced into deadly performances. This however, is just the start of your problems."

The Castle Crashers developer also released a trailer alongside the news. Check it out above. After watching said trailer, I've become pretty intrigued, and considering it's The Behemoth, you know it's going to be gold.

When Microsoft unveiled the Xbox 360 Home Game Room at this year's CES, an overwhelming 'meh' came out of gamers. To make matters worse, if you've already bought one of the games in the Game Room via XBLA, you'll have to buy them again.

A Microsoft representative recently told Gameinformer that the company considers the Game Room titles different from their XBLA counterparts because they are the original versions and not "revamped" like those on XBLA. The some-what good news? They'll be cheaper, ranging anywhere from 240 to 400 MS Points. Still, we don't see too many gamers buying games they already bought anytime soon, regardless if they're in vanilla form or not.

As much as I hate saying this: Fail.
