Here's some disappointing news. A couple days ago, word went out that a new Worms game was headed to Steam, supposedly a 2D, back-to-basics take on the series. Today, we've learned that it's merely going to be "an extended edition of the console versions."
Team 17 made the clarification on its Facebook page, writing, "Just to clear up some confusion, the new PC Worms release on steam will be called "Worms Reloaded" which is a an extended edition of the console versions of late. More details soon."
The console versions of course being Worms and Worms 2: Armageddon on XBLA and PSN. It sounds like it's just going to be a rehash of those, so my excitement just diminished for Worms Reloaded.
