Sam Fisher won't go rogue on PC till April 27th putting the release of the PC version of Splinter Cell: Conviction roughly two weeks behind the Xbox 360 version. Some inital rumorings pitched the blame for the delay at Ubisoft needing to prepare the authentcation servers for the company's DRM against potential outages, but it seems the true reason behind the delay is due to the need to debug and polish the game.
A representative from Ubisoft told Eurogamer, "The reason that has been given for the delay is that the extra time was needed to polish and debug the game...The slip has not been linked to the DRM."
Seems fair. A well polished game is far more preferred over a rushed, buggy port. At any rate lets hope the servers are up to snuff for the release.
Sam Fisher goes on the loose in North America April 13th and if you're planning to get the game on the PC here is the list of recommended specifications:
Recommended specs:
*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
- NVIDIA GeForce 7800 / 7900 / 8 / 9 / GTX series
- ATI RADEON X1800 / X1900 / HD 2000 / HD 3000 / HD 4000 / HD 5000 series
- Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.
Note: A permanent high speed internet connection and creation of a Ubisoft account are required to play this video game at all times and to unlock exclusive content. Such content may only be unlocked one single time with a unique key. You must be at least 13 to create a Ubisoft account.
Not much out of the ordinary here. Make sure you have an internet connection though, otherwise Ubisoft won't let you play.

Ubisoft released a new trailer for Splinter Cell: Conviction earlier today, providing insight into protagonist Sam Fisher's back story. All I can say is, you don't want to get on Fisher's bad side, or you'll likely end up with a broken neck.
Conviction is out April 13 on Xbox 360 and PC.
A new video of the Mansion level from Splinter Cell: Conviction released today. This is apparently the first mission of the game, which, by the way, is coming out April 13.
It looks like the Final Fantasy XIII bundle may not be the only hardware package on the way. Microsoft is set to announce a Splinter Cell: Conviction hardware bundle later today at X10. Ars Technica reports that the bundle will consist of a black Xbox 360, 250GB hard drive, two black controllers, a black wired headset, and a copy of the game of course.
The bundle will retail for $399.99, and it will go on sale when the game launches in April.
In its recent financial conference call, Ubisoft reiterated the fact that Splinter Cell: Conviction will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 and PC, despite previous Splinter Cell titles going multiplatform.
"…this time it's going to be PC and Xbox 360 exclusive," the company noted during the call.
It was also revealed that the franchise's lifetime sales have exceeded 19 million units since its inception in 2002.

Ubisoft has confirmed to VG247 that Splinter Cell: Conviction will not be getting a demo anytime soon. This contradicts what a Ubi rep said before the game's delay, saying that it would be getting a pre-release demo.
"There is no plan for a demo [at the moment]," the rep said today.
The release date for Conviction was confirmed yesterday as April 13.
The people over at TeamXbox received an interesting package from Ubisoft, a rock. What's etched on it, however, is something even more interesting. It's the apparent release date of Splinter Cell: Conviction, set in stone. Because an archaic press release wouldn't have done the job, the rock, shown above, has Splinter Cell's logo etched into it with "4.13.10" on the back.
There's no more delaying now!
Ubisoft shot out a few more screens for Splinter Cell: Conviction that show off the multiplayer aspect of the game. Check them all out after the break.
Conviction is out this April for PC and Xbox 360.
