To break it down simply, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 have their own exclusive baseball games, SCE's The Show and 2k's MLB 2kXX series. What this means is that if you only own a Xbox 360, and are an avid baseball fan, your choice of baseball game is pretty much set as there are no alternatives on the platform. Since 2k's MLB series debuted on the 360, the yearly iterations each had their shares of steps forwards and backwards but could never match up against PS3's The Show. Does this dilemma continue with MLB 2k10?
Visual Concepts, the developer for MLB 2k10, is well aware of the reception last year's 2k9 received from gamers and critics alike. 2K Sports announced today that it apparently has so much money, that it will give a million dollars to the first person who throws a verifiable perfect game in MLB 2K10 before May 2. Either they're confident no one can do it, or they just have so much money they don't know what to do with it. I'm not so inclined it's the latter of the two.
"You don't see too many perfect games thrown in MLB 2K, but we've seen it happen," said Jason Argent, marketing VP for 2K Sports. "Our goal is to celebrate and highlight Major League Baseball 2K10's superior pitching and hitting mechanics this season, while also giving one of our loyal fans the thrilling opportunity to be rewarded with a lot of money."
