Bethesda revealed on its Twitter feed that new "stuff" on Fallout: New Vegas is coming sometime tomorrow.

"Keep your eyes peeled for new stuff on #FalloutNewVegas tomorrow!" they wrote.

And in case you weren't following the Bethblog, both Bethsoft VP Pete Hines and community manager Nick Breckon also dropped the hint.

So what could "stuff" possibly be? New details? Screenshots? Your guess is as good as ours, but we're guessing it's going to be pretty juicy considering it's been mentioned in three different places by Bethesda.

The Interplay-Bethesda legal battle has been raging for some time now, but things just got interesting. Apparently, Interplay CEO Herve Caen has filed a document with the court in which he takes a few jabs at Bethesda's conduct during the legal proceedings. Not only that, but he demands reimbursement of all legal fees from Bethesda, totaling around $200,000.

Duck and Cover has obtained both the documents Interplay filed, Herve Caen's statements and the reimbursement demands.

Looks like things just got serious!

id Software Hiring for Next Doom Installment

It may be busy with Rage, but developer id Software is already gearing up for the next Doom installment. The studio currently has "several programming positions open, as well as positions in Animation, Art, Design, IT, and Management." And if the image posted on the Bethesda Blog (seen above) is any indication, it's pretty apparent what these jobs are for.

"If you're wondering what folks there might be ramping up for, the ad above might give you an idea," reads the Beth Blog.

id has indicated before that the next Doom will not be a sequel to Doom 3 nor a "reboot" for the franchise, so that pretty much leaves me out of ideas. Either way, it's pretty sweet news.

Duck and Cover has obtained more transcripts from the legal battle (click the link for the full transcripts). DAC also posted a few bullet points from the transcripts for those of us who are intimidated by walls of text, or simply can't read. Take a look at the synopsis after the jump.

Bethesda Considered a Star Trek RPG Before Fallout 3

Bethesda Executive Producer Todd Howard spoke with Kotaku Talk Radio yesterday. He mentioned that, before making Fallout 3, the team actually pitched a Star Trek RPG set in the Captain Kirk era. Howard said that, at one point, Bethesda had the rights to Star Trek games. After Activision decided not to renew its license, Bethesda picked up some of the projects.

Howard noted that nothing was actually developed internally. "There was a pitch to do a big Star Trek RPG, [but] we were doing other things. We made Fallout. We can't do everything," he said. Howard also said that if the project had been done, Shatner would have been voicing Kirk.

"I agree, I want the big Star Trek RPG that you go out and explore the universe," Howard commented in reference to Atari's Star Trek Online.

A GameSpot forums member claims to have details from Fallout: New Vegas that will be in the next issue of Game Informer. Bethesda has refused to comment on whether the leak is valid or not, so for now we'll put this one in the rumors pile. More details after the jump.

  • Similar to Dragon Age: Origins, at character creation the player can select from different background stories. The first few hours of the game are different depending on which background you choose, and you get some unique perks based on your background when the main game begins.
  • One background story is shown, Chinese Agent. The background story takes place before the bombs fell. The player is part of a team of Crimson Dragoons infilitrating Hoover Dam. You manage to sneak through the Americans' defenses, set explosives, and head to an extraction point, but your escape is cut off by American soldiers in Power Armor. The player and other survivors of the Crimson Dragoons take refuge in a cave in the canyons, where they commit hari kari with cyanide capsules. The player about to do the same when the bombs fall. The background story ends an indeterminate time later, when the player exits the cave, removes his helmet, and sees his ghoulish reflection in the waters of the Colorado River. (more...)
