Well, technically not so much "new maps" as "now widely available" maps. The four bonus maps included with the special edition version of the game will be available for all as DLC March 18th. Price of entry is $7.
Regarding the maps themselves, two are designed for the games competitive multiplayer modes and two are designed for cooperative modes. The competitive maps are called "Docks" and "Machine". The cooperative maps are called "Outpost" and "Hive". The latter two take place in an overrun human colony and Alien breeding ground and are designed for human versus alien gameplay.
I haven't played the game yet, but the latter coop. maps sound right up my alley.

Aliens vs. Predator made a surprising debut last week, knocking out BioShock 2 from the top spot in the UK charts after just one week. It's also now the fast-selling game of 2010, according to GfK Chart-Track data (which doesn't even include digitally distributed copies).
BioShock 2's sales fell 71% since last week, bringing it to the number three spot. Just Dance has maintained its position at number two.

The Aliens vs. Predator demo released with a lot of problems, namely with the matchmaking. Although the developer was quick to fix the PC version, the PS3 demo only recently received a patch. Gamers have been criticizing it as well because it only features free-for-all deathmatch, which isn't one of the game's better modes.
CEO and co-founder of Rebellion, Jason Kingsley, has responded to the criticism, saying that deathmatch was chosen due to its familiarity within the FPS realm.
"We chose Deathmatch as the mode for the demo as it's very familiar to all FPS gamers and minimizes restrictions on players while they are getting to grips with the controls of each of the three playable species," he said. "We have plenty of new modes in the game and players only have to wait a matter of days before they can play them when the game launches."

The AVP demo released earlier this week. Unfortunately, it was also plagued with massive matchmaking issues. Developer Rebellion has apologized for the problems, adding that a patch has fixed up the PC version.
"Unprecedented demand for Aliens vs. Predator following the release of the cross-platform demo yesterday morning brought to light matchmaking issues on the PC platform resulting in players having to wait to join games, or even not find games at all," the developer said in a statement issued by Sega. "We're really sorry that this issue tainted a day in which we saw many people get hands on with AvP for the first time and we're hugely gratified by the positive feedback to the game."
The Xbox 360 was not affected by the issues, and a fix is also on the way for the PS3.

The Aliens vs. Predator demo has gone live on Steam this evening, so go and get your grubby hands on that. Yes, it features multiplayer, and the servers have been fairly empty, so hurry up and download it dammit!
As for the Xbox 360 demo, that will be going up on Xbox Live sometime tomorrow.
Let it be known that it doesn't suck.

In addition to a new trailer, SEGA has revealed that an online multiplayer demo will be released for Aliens vs Predator on Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and STEAM on February 4th.
The multiplayer demo will allow gamers the chance to play as all three species – the Colonial Marine, the Predator and the Alien – and pitch their skills against each other in Deathmatch mode on Refinery, one of the game’s multiplayer maps. The game is set to release on February 16th in America, and the 19th in Europe.

Aliens vs. Predator fansite AvPGalaxy reports that a demo for the new Aliens vs. Predator game is coming this week on Thursday, February 4 for Xbox 360. Apparently, an Xbox Live Spotlight ad revealed the incriminating information.
It's unclear whether the demo will feature single player or multiplayer, but Rebellion has noted before that they hope gamers will be able to enjoy the demo "online," as in multiplayer. There's also no word on if we'll be seeing a PC and PS3 demo.
As you probably noticed, we're pretty excited for this game.
