Ubisoft has confirmed to VG247 that Splinter Cell: Conviction will not be getting a demo anytime soon. This contradicts what a Ubi rep said before the game's delay, saying that it would be getting a pre-release demo.

"There is no plan for a demo [at the moment]," the rep said today.

The release date for Conviction was confirmed yesterday as April 13.

EyePet 2 in the Works

SCEE has confirmed that EyePet 2 is on the way. Sony Europe boss George Fornay made the announcement in an interview, saying that the PlayStation Eye game is currently in development, and it may even release as early as this year.

It comes as a bit of a surprise since the game didn't do terribly well in Europe, and it hasn't even released in North America yet. I guess Sony still thinks the game has untapped potential. Any chance we could see Arc support for it? That's right, I called it Arc.

Eidos' Just Cause 2 is due out next month, so talks about a demo have begun to sprung up. Fortunately, Eidos has confirmed that the game is indeed getting the pre-release demo treatment, and it's "on its way."

"Just Cause 2 demo on its way, details to follow!" they tweeted before later adding, "No details just yet, only confirmation that there will be one. Stay tuned and we'll post details as soon as possible."

They also released a new trailer for the game, which you can see above.

Get the Mass Effect 2 Dr. Pepper DLC without the Dr. Pepper

As we know, EA and Dr. Pepper teamed up to offer some exclusive downloadable content for Mass Effect 2. The bad news about that was that Dr. Pepper isn't really supplied outside of the US. The good news is that the promotional codes are actually reusable, meaning you don't have to drink any Dr. Pepper, although I suggest you do because it's delicious.

Hellforge has obtained the codes for your convenience:

Now you just have to head over to the Dr. Pepper promo website, sign up for an account, and then make some copypasta. The content includes the Umbra Visor, the Recon Hood, and the Sentry Interface. Not too exciting, but it's free!

Dark Void DLC on the Way

Because you wanted it (right?), Capcom has announced that Dark Void is getting downloadable content. Dubbed the "Survivor Missions," the DLC will provide gamers with a sort of Horde mode (since that seems to be the hip thing to do these days), pitting gamers against waves of enemies. It consists of ten rounds in total, and it will cost you 400 Microsoft Points or $4.99.  It's hitting Xbox Live February 10 and PSN a day later.

The Dark Void soundtrack is also getting a release consisting of 80 minutes of hand-picked score. It will also feature a bonus 8-bit version of the game's main theme. Look for that on February 9.

Rockstar Games participated in Movember, an annual, month-long celebration of the moustache, bringing awareness to men's health issues. As a part of Movember, Rockstar held a moustache contest, promising that the entry with the most supreme bristles would be featured in the studio's upcoming Red Dead Redemption.

Today the winner was revealed as Charles Leece, who will appear as a villain in the game. His brilliant stache will be featured on wanted posters all over.

Digg Gets Clever Dante’s Inferno Advertisement

Initially thought to be a possible hack, those who check Digg's source code today will notice a rather hellish figure embedded in some ASCII art. However, upon closer examination, it appears to be a marketing campaign by EA, considering towards the bottom, the URL http://hellisnigh.com is listed.

Digg has confirmed that it's a marketing stunt by EA.

"Since Digg’s early days, ASCII art has been ingrained in our site’s culture," said Chas Edwards, Digg Publisher and Chief Revenue Officer. "We're thrilled with the opportunity presented by our partnership with Electronic Arts and the Dante's Inferno team — incorporating ASCII art into advertising on Digg, while providing the 40 million users in the Digg Community first access to the promotion code."

Pretty clever, eh?
