Infinity Ward has finally put out official word on the incoming DLC pack for Modern Warfare 2, entitled the "Stimulus Package." The pack will launch worldwide on March 30 for Xbox Live. It will later be coming to PC and PSN down the line of course.
There's no word on what maps will be included in the package, but rumors suggest it will include five maps, which may include some familiar locales.
Well, technically not so much "new maps" as "now widely available" maps. The four bonus maps included with the special edition version of the game will be available for all as DLC March 18th. Price of entry is $7.
Regarding the maps themselves, two are designed for the games competitive multiplayer modes and two are designed for cooperative modes. The competitive maps are called "Docks" and "Machine". The cooperative maps are called "Outpost" and "Hive". The latter two take place in an overrun human colony and Alien breeding ground and are designed for human versus alien gameplay.
I haven't played the game yet, but the latter coop. maps sound right up my alley.

2K issued a press release earlier today detailing the first add-on pack for BioShock 2. Sinclair Solutions Tester Pack will be releasing worldwide on March 11 for 400 MS Points or $4.99. The DLC pack will include the following:

More announcements for BioShock 2 DLC will be arriving "in the coming weeks."
Square Enix's long awaited Final Fantasy XIII will be released next week but if you are planning to choose the 360 version over the PS3 you may want to reconsider. According to an in-depth analysis at eurogamer.com, between the two versions the quality of the Xbox 360 port doesn't quite reach the visual fidelity of it's PS3 counter part.
"Adequate but a touch disappointing" best sums up the Xbox 360 version. Fine edges lose precision, and while the effect is mitigated thanks to the MSAA along with the multitude of post processing effects the engine has at its disposal, the fact is that the lack of resolution can make the 360 build look sub-par. The clean CG look of the PS3 game in motion is unduly compromised, and while it's still a handsome enough title on Xbox 360, it lacks the pristine presentation of its sibling.
If you're an owner of both the 360 and PS3, and need some help making a choice between the two, this article is a good read. Along with a detailed break down of the visual differences between the two SKU's, the reasons why the downgrade of quality may not have even been necessary is discussed.

Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami's latest game, Vanquish, will see release this winter according to an article in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine.
From the details released so far, the game which is being developed by Platinum Games will be a third person shooter that features a cover system and high paced action. Players wear an armored suit with all sorts of high tech armaments and battle it out with robots in a conflicted setting between Russia and the U.S.
The game is slated for release on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and is currently 80% complete through its development cycle.
Call him crazy, but Black Rock Studio's Jason Ried, producer of the upcoming racer Split/Second, likens his new game to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Uncharted 2 more so than the traditional racing game.
"It's a tough one. [Activision's] Blur is obviously competition -- it's racing and it's doing things slightly different as well. But we almost feel we're closer to Call of Duty or Uncharted in what we do than other racing games," Ried told CVG. "Animation-wise, Split/Second is the most ambitious thing that's ever been done in a racing game. So that is where we come down to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 comparison -- because of these huge set pieces."
While it seems just about everyone and their mom has weighed in on the Natal debate, when Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter speaks, people listen, whether it's to criticize him for his bold predictions or not. Pachter recently predicted that Natal would outsell PS3's Arc -- five to one in fact -- simply due to the fact that it will likely be cheaper. He's not the only one who thinks the device has potential. Co-founder of Naughty Dog, Jason Rubin, recently expressed his thoughts on Natal during the latest episode of GameTrailers' Bonus Round.
"I think Natal and things like Natal are going to revolutionize more than gaming," said Rubin. "Putting Natal in the Xbox gives it the opportunity to become a lot more than just a gaming machine. The things you can do outside of gaming justifies buying Natal. If Microsoft plays its cards right it can sell far more Xbox's to people who don't buy games."
Microsoft wants Natal to replace your TV's remote control. Is that what gamers want?
