When Mega Microgame$!'s WarioWare series first debuted on the Gameboy Advanced it took a new direction with the minigames genre that hadn't yet been explored. There hadn't been to many games before it that featured minigame collections in which each game took less than five seconds to complete. This was the first of its kind; quick, short bursts of gameplay that required lightning fast reflexes to complete within a very short amount of time. With WarioWare D.I.Y., the job of creating these minigames is left to the player's hands. Does it work?

Red Steel 2 Review

At the advent of the Wii Red Steel was a game that wanted to revolutionize the FPS genre using the then innovative motion capabilities of the Wii remote. However, when put to practice the dream of  being able to realistically sword play in a 1:1 fashion stumbled over awkward controls and clunky pre-canned animations, concessions made in part for the de-glitzed motion capabilities of the Wii remote. A little over three years and one peripheral later, Red Steel 2 has arrived to try and provide the gun slingling, sword fighting action craved from its predecessor. With the Wii motion plus can motion controlled sword fighting finally be achieved, or is it better to not cross blades with this sword slinger?

Dante’s Inferno PSP Review: Hell Hath No Fury Like A Gamer’s Scorn

On a home console, Dante’s Inferno offers players a view of hell never before witnessed in gaming, much less any other form of digital media. Only literature has managed to captivate our minds so brilliantly, even though the console version of Visceral Games’ reinterpretation of the first segment of Dante Aligheri’s Divine Comedy failed in bringing audiences to hell. So too does its portable sibling so blatantly miss success, this time by Artificial Mind and Movement, known more recently for such titles as WET and, well, many a PS2, Wii and portable console ports. Final Fantasy XIII Review

Final Fantasy XIII comes off initially as a very standard Japanese role-playing game. As the player, you’re introduced to a cast of characters, each with their individual tale of woe, and you’re pushed into a simplistic combat system that fails to be in any way interesting. To put it bluntly, the general first impression of this latest installment in Square’s most beloved franchise is that it’s boring beyond repair. But, while said ingression does go on to last a near full three hours, it gives way to an infinitely more engrossing system of play immediately afterwards, and the narrative slowly becomes one of the more involved that the series has known. MLB 2k10 Review: Just Barely Tips the Ball

feature

To break it down simply, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 have their own exclusive baseball games, SCE's The Show and 2k's MLB 2kXX series. What this means is that if you only own a Xbox 360, and are an avid baseball fan, your choice of baseball game is pretty much set as there are no alternatives on the platform. Since 2k's MLB series debuted on the 360, the yearly iterations each had their shares of steps forwards and backwards but could never match up against PS3's The Show. Does this dilemma continue with MLB 2k10?
