Just a heads up, Sega's sky fighter arcade hit is coming to an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 near you April 21st and 22nd respectively for an estimated $10. The current release dates apply for both North America and Europe.

To be honest I never played the arcade game myself but word on the street is that this gem is a classic, so if high octane, ludicrous combat is your game then by all means get your dog fight on when the game hits XBLA and PSN this April.

Final Fantasy XIII Review

Final Fantasy XIII comes off initially as a very standard Japanese role-playing game. As the player, you’re introduced to a cast of characters, each with their individual tale of woe, and you’re pushed into a simplistic combat system that fails to be in any way interesting. To put it bluntly, the general first impression of this latest installment in Square’s most beloved franchise is that it’s boring beyond repair. But, while said ingression does go on to last a near full three hours, it gives way to an infinitely more engrossing system of play immediately afterwards, and the narrative slowly becomes one of the more involved that the series has known. Aliens vs. Predator Getting New Maps March 18

by Kyle Lehtinen Mar 10, 2010 8:53 AM CST
filed under dlc, news, pc, ps3, xbox 360

Well, technically not so much "new maps" as "now widely available" maps. The four bonus maps included with the special edition version of the game will be available for all as DLC March 18th. Price of entry is $7.

Regarding the maps themselves, two are designed for the games competitive multiplayer modes and two are designed for cooperative modes. The competitive maps are called "Docks" and "Machine". The cooperative maps are called "Outpost" and "Hive".  The latter two take place in an overrun human colony and Alien breeding ground and are designed for human versus alien gameplay.

I haven't played the game yet, but the latter coop. maps sound right up my alley.

Disclosing important narrative details -- spoilers -- is the business of Caution Tape, and what's been written beyond these words is intended to be read by those who have already completed the title of focus. If you have yet to finish or even to purchase said video game, and if you actually plan on doing so, it wouldn't be a bad idea to turn your attention to the many other features, reviews, and news posts on the site. The name of the game is Heavy Rain. Hey, that rhymed! (more...)

Heavy Rain Review: Isn’t It Ironic, Don’t You Think

Interactive storytelling was the goal developer Quantic Dream sought to create, and Heavy Rain is the product they and Sony have pushed oh so hard to make. Surprisingly, they fail in so many ways, while still making a unique and noteworthy title that many will undoubtedly enjoy, and many will definitely hate. (more...)
