Blizzconsole?! Blizzard Says They “Will Work On A Console Game At Some Point”

With World of Warcraft celebrating five years and the classic Warcraft series now going on fifteen, what could be next for Blizzard? One employee says a console game may definitely be on the distant horizon.

Samwise Didier, senior director of StarCraft II and art director of the first three Warcraft games was recently quoted as saying, "We're working on PC because it's familiar to us and it's relatively easy and it's not changing formats every other year and there aren't three different versions. Console, we have to worry about. I think the PC is really a good market to target."

J. Allen Brack, production director for World of Warcraft also said, "we're a company of gamers. I have two consoles at home. Sam has consoles. We're a culture of gamers. We will definitely work on a console game at some point. I have no doubt about that. It's just a matter of what game. What makes the most sense?"

That brings to question what exactly does make sense for a company like Blizzard to make for next gen consoles. Could we have the first real MMORPG made for consoles by them people who arguably make them the best? Let's cross our fingers.
