It was originally announced that Alan Wake would be coming to both PC and Xbox 360. It doesn't look like that's happening, as it was announced the PC version is getting canned. The reason, according to the publisher, was because Alan Wake is intended to be played on a couch in front of a TV for atmospheric purposes.
"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen," Microsoft said. "We ultimately realized that the most compelling way to experience Alan Wake was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."
This is the second PC game to get dropped this week, the other being Dead Space 2. Not good at all.
