PSN Maintenance Shuts Down Gaming From 12-3 on MAG Release

Plan on standing in line for MAG at midnight? Don't bother. Besides recent reports that reviews are being withheld, the Sony PlayStation Twitter feed just announced that PSN will be down for maintenance from 12-3am pacific standard time. Guess we're all better off buying it tomorrow...or maybe after some reviews tell us whether it's good or not.

  1. Yeah, because we all need reviews to tell us what to buy any more. Decide what looks good in you’re eyes, instead of waiting for a “Official” opinion. The game is a shooter with 256 people in a room. Use two analog sticks and R1 to shoot. It is not rocket science. See you online if some other guy online tells you to get it.

Oh we’ll be reviewing the game. And there’s a lot more to what makes a game good than what you said.

I am well aware of that. I hate gun games on average. And know there is not allot of variety in them. But I don’t see why people hold reviews in such high regards. All a there is to a review is just another persons opinion. So I don’t hold them in high regards.

Monster Hunter for the PS2 is one of my favorite games, and it is like a 5.6 on metacritic.

Hype means nothing to me, I want MAG, so I will get it. I don’t like MW so I didn’t get it. I don’t see why reviews are help up as gold in the gaming world now.

  3. To each their own, but I wouldn’t read too closely into James’ statement.

  5. I participated in all the Beta’s of this game, and it is easily the best team based shooter I have ever played (been FPS since counter strike). It rewards team work, has a highly customizable loadout system, and offers the largest scale battles ever seen in gaming. would whole heartedly recommend it to any FPS fan. The only negative on the game could be that it is too in depth for casual gamers. To really enjoy it the way the developers intended you need to be in a team mentality, It isn’t a 256 player death match by any means. Happy Gaming

  9. This is from Sony…

Tomorrow (1/26) there will be PSN maintenance from 12-3am PT. During that time, SCEA users will be unable to sign in for a 10 min. period.

How about get the full story over next time. Make this site look somewhat professional.

  11. sigh.
why does sony always do this on release for a big MP game?
    resistance 2, killzone 2, MW2.
every big MP game release i can think of i have not been able to sign in and play because the servers are in “maintenance”
seriously the organization skills of sony are despicable!
dont they know MAG is coming out?
there the publishers are they not?
i mean seriously why cant they do the “maintenance” one day before release?
i would not mind if its once in a blue moon but every single big MP release.
    give me a break!
i always said sony are run by a bunch of monkeys, but they did not have to prove it!

You object to waiting 10 minutes for the game servers to run smoothly? I won’t be getting this game as FPS is my most hated genre of all time but if i was going to get the game i wouldn’t throw a fit over having to wait an extra 10 minutes to play it.

I mean 10 minutes……..that’s enough time to get a drink and a sandwich. Then when you come back the servers will be online, simples.

as i said i would not mind if it was once every blue moon.
but every single big release MP game, it just looks bad on them and proves there disorganization.
you dont see XBLA going down on the release of their big MP games now do you?
ive never understood the logic of sony, at times they come off like there running around like headless chocks.

  13. It’s only going down for 10 Mins during the times of 12-3am. So OP needs to get their FACTS straight before posting.
