There's still no release date set for Dead Space 2. Some even speculate that it might not release until 2011. Whatever the case might be, there's a lot of anticipation riding on the sequel, which both developer Visceral Games and publisher EA realize. That's why they aren't pushing it out the door. Instead, it will ship "when it's ready."
"We are focused 100% on quality and making a great sequel to the original Dead Space," Dead Space 2 executive producer Steve Papoutsis told CVG. "The company is completely behind our team and Visceral Games. The game will ship when it is ready and meets with the team's and Visceral Games' high-quality standards."
That makes it sound like we might be waiting a pretty long time for this game, but at least they aren't rushing it like some other publishers. I won't name any names.
