Assassin's Creed II was a huge holiday success for Ubisoft, selling over 1.6 million copies within its first week of release. Stern Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia believes the game's success is only going to continue into the new year. Tracking ahead of expectations, Bhatia said, "We expect the title to sell through close to 8.5M units by March of 2010 (up from prior expectation of 7.5M units). For the December quarter, we have raised our unit expectation from ~5.5 million units to 6.5M units. Recall, the game got off to a slightly slower start due to competion from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, but subsequently picked up good momentum."

Obviously great news for Ubisoft, which is further supported by what will likely be a strong March with the release of Splinter Cell: Conviction, Red Steel 2 and RUSE.
