According to Yahoo Japan, Final Fantasy XIII sold over one million copies on its first day of release in Japan. That figure doesn't include copies of the game bundled with FFXIII special edition PS3s either, which is rumored to have shipped 200,000 units. Considering there are roughly four million PS3s in Japan, that's about a one-in-four attachment rate. Pretty impressive. The game released yesterday, and it's believed that Square Enix shipped 1.8 million copies of it.
Final Fantasy XIII will be released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 9, 2010 in regions outside of Japan.
