In a New York Post interview with actor Kevin McKidd, voice of Captain "Soap" McTavish in the Call of Duty series, it was revealed that a movie adaptation of the aforementioned game is in the works. He noted that the idea of a Call of Duty movie is picking up steam. Here's an excerpt from the interview, commenting on voicing the character and who would be the actor for Soap in a feature film:
They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film. If the script is good, and Gerard isn't available [laughs], then absolutely.
So, will we be seeing a Modern Warfare 2 movie before we see a Halo movie? It sounds pretty promising so far.
