A few lucky gamers might be playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 already as a handful of GameStops in the northeastern United States were granted special permission from Activision to sell the game early. This is due to a number of mom-and-pop stores breaking the street date early. GameStop managers were complaining that they were losing customers due to the small retailers selling the game early, a crime punishable by a $30,000 fine no less.
And in mainland Europe, retailers have also begun selling copies of the game in-store. Many consumers have shown pictures of the game with a receipt for proof. The title isn't actually due out until Tuesday, November 10.
PC gamers can start pre-loading the game on Steam as of today.
