Thanks for the heads up. It's definitely possible that this is Photoshopped. However, code for splitscreen and system link was found in the PC source code.

This isn't all that uncommon in ports. Sometimes they'll say 'press start' or 'press A to continue'. While MW2 wasn't a direct console port, there are a number of lines of code that were simply copied over to the PC version, this being one of them. It's just lazy coding. A very similar thing happened with Need for Speed: Shift. The Xbox 360 version tried connecting to the PSN at launch.
