If you've played Left 4 Dead 2's "Dark Carnival" campaign than you no doubt have heard of the "Midnight Riders," a fictitious band in the game that one of the characters obsesses about (also the campaign's finale takes place on a stage set for the band). A website for the Midnight Riders was discovered, which currently just features a picture of the group with the words "coming soon." The website is registered to Valve, so it's legitimate. My guess is that we're going to see downloadable content involving the Midnight Riders in some form or another, perhaps even giving gamers a chance to play as the group. There are four members in the band. Coincidence? I think not.
The real question is if they are going to charge gamers for this new content. Before the announcement of L4D2 I wouldn’t have even considered that Valve would charge for DLC. But recently they seem to becoming more and more like all the other gaming companies whose only goal is to extort the maximum amount of money possible from their fans.
