We all knew when Left 4 Dead released that Valve had yet another successful franchise on its hands. The game came out just under a year ago, and the studio began work on its successor immediately. Left 4 Dead 2 is set to release November 17 in North America, and it has already quadrupled that of the original's pre-order sales.
This comes as a surprise considering the game's boycott by some gamers. Despite this, it's clear that Valve doesn't have problems when it comes to selling its games.
Valve writer Chet Faliszek commented, "As we get closer to launch we see the reaction to the demo, pre-orders are four times what Left 4 Dead 1 was, people's excitement, the boycott itself and how it's changed ... I think people are just excited now."
The Left 4 Dead 2 demo recently became available to all gamers, PC and Xbox 360, earlier this week.
