It's been reported that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer service IWNet has been spreading a Trojan virus. Users from Infinity Ward's forum have discovered the virus in their C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Temp directory. The files have names ~B8.tmp and ~B8.vir, which are created once the player hosts a game on IWNet.
It's believed that the problem originated when hackers put a Trojan called TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen in Modern Warfare 2. IWNet then transmitted the virus, which is supposedly a keylogging software, to other players. There have been reports that Call of Duty: World at War is infected with the Trojan as well. However, many gamers are saying the virus is a false positive and that it's actually not harmful nor does it pose a security risk.
Infinity Ward has yet to comment on the issue.

I have read some more on this “virus” and apparently it is indeed a false positive.
