In an interview with Autoweek.com, the head of Polyphony Digital Kazunori Yamauchi revealed just how much went in to making Gran Turismo 5.  How much did the company spend on the game? Think $60 million. The game has been in development for about five years, and Yamauchi says the cost was totally justifiable.

"There are other games that cost more," Yamauchi tells Autoweek, "Considering the size and scale of the game, I think it's probably a fairly small amount."

He also mentions that the wait between GT5 and GT6 will be much smaller, saying, "You won't have to wait as long as you did for GT5. GT5 represents a whole new operating system. GT6 is just new apps that run on the GT5 system."

Now the only question is when will we see Gran Turismo 5 released outside of Japan?
